These Terms of Service govern your use of SiftPics, a product owned and operated by Sentinel Technologies, LLC.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SiftPics ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Software.

2. License Grant

Subject to these terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • Install and use SiftPics on up to three (3) devices you own or control
  • Use the Software for personal or internal business purposes
  • Make backup copies for archival purposes

3. Restrictions

You may NOT:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works
  • Rent, lease, sell, or sublicense the Software
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
  • Use the Software to violate any laws or regulations
  • Share your license key with others
  • Use the Software for any illegal purpose

4. Trial and Demo

The free trial version is provided for evaluation purposes only. Trial limitations include:

  • 10 scans per session, 100 files per scan maximum
  • Only first 10 results visible per scan
  • File operations (move, delete, export) are disabled
  • Archive and video scanning unavailable
  • No time limit - trial is scan-based, not time-based

To access unlimited scanning and all Pro features, you must purchase a license subscription.

5. Subscription and Payment

Pro Plan:

  • Available as Monthly or Annual subscription at the current listed price
  • Automatically renews unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • Cancel anytime; access continues until end of current billing period
  • Annual subscriptions are billed once per year at a discounted rate
  • Prices may change with 30 days notice; existing subscriptions honored until renewal

All payments are processed securely by Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor. We do not store credit card information on our servers. Payment data is handled in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.

6. Refund Policy

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied with SiftPics, contact support within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.

7. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring you have the right to scan files you process
  • Backing up important data before using deletion features
  • Keeping your license key secure
  • Using the Software in compliance with all applicable laws

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • The Software will meet your specific requirements
  • Detection accuracy will be 100% perfect
  • The Software will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Any errors will be corrected

AI detection is not perfect. Always review flagged content before deletion. We are not responsible for false positives or false negatives.

8.1 Archive File Scanning (Optional)

Optional Feature

SiftPics includes an optional archive extraction feature that is disabled by default.

Archive files (ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ) can be scanned when you enable this feature in Settings → File Filters → "Archives (Extract & Scan)".

When archive scanning is disabled (default):

  • Archive files are automatically skipped during scanning
  • The Software will NOT detect content within archives
  • You can manually extract archives and scan the extracted folder

When archive scanning is enabled:

  • Archives are extracted to a temporary folder and scanned
  • Security protections prevent zip bombs and malicious archives
  • Password-protected archives cannot be scanned and are skipped
  • Scanning is slower due to extraction overhead

You acknowledge and accept that the Company is NOT liable for any content within unscanned archive files, including encrypted/password-protected archives.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of data or files
  • Loss of profits or business
  • Business interruption
  • Any other commercial damages

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Secure Deletion Warning

⚠️ IMPORTANT: The secure deletion feature permanently destroys files. Deleted files CANNOT be recovered, even with professional recovery tools. Always verify flagged files before deletion. We are not responsible for accidentally deleted files.

11. Updates and Changes

We may update the Software and these terms periodically. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We may discontinue the Software with reasonable notice.

12. Termination

We may terminate your license if you violate these terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the Software and delete all copies. Sections on liability, warranties, and dispute resolution survive termination.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware, United States, and you consent to such jurisdiction.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SiftPics regarding the Software.
